Off to the Addax Rally for a Ténéré 700 rally-raid in Morocco

After more than six months since our last participation in the Carta Rallythe Yamaha Ténéré Rally Team is back on track for a new rally-raid adventure in Morocco. Head for Merzouga and the legendary Moroccan desert, the ideal playground for the Ténéré 700our rally-raid bike designed for endurance, navigation and performance.

Preparation and performance: the Ténéré 700 ready for the Moroccan desert

The last six months have been devoted to preparing our bikes and riders. The aim: to make the Yamaha Ténéré 700 even more efficient, reliable and suited to the extreme conditions of rally-raid.
Our technical teams have been working to perfect suspension settings, navigation and ergonomics, all key points for tackling Morocco ‘s tracks and dunes in the best possible conditions.

The Addax Rally, a 5-stage rally-raid in Morocco

We’ll be at the start of theAddax Rally, a demanding and spectacular Moroccan rally-raid. Based in Merzouga, at the famous Nasser Palace hotel, this rally is run in a cloverleaf format: each day, a new loop in the desert, but a fixed bivouac for greater comfort and efficiency.

The program: a 70 km prologue followed by 5 stages, for a total of some 1,700 km of sandy tracks, fast off-roads and dunes as far as the eye can see. A real test for the riders and their Ténéré 700s, at the heart of the rally-raid in Morocco.

Our drivers at the start of the Addax Rally

🇮🇹 Alessandro Botturi, rally-raid legend and two-time winner of the Africa Eco Race, looks back on the Moroccan rally-raid with the Yamaha Ténéré 700. He followed this up with a fine season in the Italian Motorally Championship and victory on the Swank Rally.
🇵🇹 António Maio, multiple Portuguese national champion and Dakar finisher, joins the Ténéré Spirit Experience. He will be taking part in theAddax Rally Maroc on the official Ténéré 700, ready to shine on the Merzouga tracks.
🇩🇪 Kevin Gallas, already a winner in the twin-cylinder category on the Carta Rallyreturns to Morocco for his second rally-raid. His aim: to confirm his progress and exploit the full potential of the Yamaha Ténéré 700.
🇩🇪 Mike Wiedemann, a driver accustomed to the desert, he has taken part in the Dakar Rally in 2023 and 2022, as well as numerous European rally-raids.
🇫🇷 Bertrand Gavard, who took part in the Carta Rally, continues his preparations for theAfrica Eco Race. He fine-tunes his navigation and technique on his Ténéré 700 Rally Raid before the big African departure.

Addax Rally Maroc kicks off on November 9 with administrative and technical scrutineering, before the prologue kicks off.
