The Africa Eco Race is a two-week rally-raid race starting from Tangier, with a route that practically follows the tracks of the historic Paris-Dakar, finishing at the legendary Lac Rose in Dakar, Senegal.

Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal: 12 stages and two weeks of adventure.

1. Which category should you enter for the Africa Eco Race?

To determine the budget needed to take part in this race, you first need to define the category you want to enter.

The Racing Category
The Racing category is the original format of rally-raid and is for those seeking a fully competitive race experience.
Roadbook navigation, rankings, timed stages.

The Raid Category
The Raid category is more focused on adventure and exploration. In this category, you can choose between two options depending on your experience and the level of difficulty you’re looking for.

👉 Raid Traveler: a format more focused on adventure and travel, allowing you to enjoy the route at your own pace.
👉 Raid Evolution: a format that follows the same route and the same specials as the Racing riders, with roadbook navigation. However, there is no overall ranking in this category.

Basically, anyone can take part in the Africa Eco Race, especially thanks to the Raid category which opens the doors to this world.
It’s a way to get started in rally-raid, or simply to experience an adventure at the heart of the rally, without necessarily racing in competition mode.

2. With or without support for the Africa Eco Race?

Second important point for determining how much the Africa Eco Race costs for motorcycles: support.
Do you want to take part with support or without support? Several options exist.

👉 Malle Moto
No support: you do your own mechanics in the evening.
The organization transports your trunk with your tools, your tent, and your gear.
It’s the most self-sufficient option, but also the one that requires the most involvement from the rider once the stage is finished.

👉 Your own support vehicle
You can take part with your own support if you have family, friends, or colleagues who can make themselves available to accompany you.
They will need to drive the support vehicle, help you with evening mechanics, and manage the necessary logistics during the rally…

👉 Professional support
Finally, several teams offer their support services at rally-raids, with different configurations depending on your needs.

The Ténéré Spirit Experience is an integral part of the official Ténéré Yamaha Rally Team.
In other words, by taking part in the Africa Eco Race with us, it’s a bit like being a pro rider: you join the same structure as the Ténéré Yamaha Rally Team.

You benefit from help with admin, logistics, mechanics, but also from tips from team manager Marc Bourgeois, or our sport manager Jordi Arcarons, a Dakar legend.

And you’ll be alongside our riders: Gautier Paulin, Alessandro Botturi, and Kevin Gallas, winner of the 2026 Africa Eco Race overall.
Basically, we take care of everything. All you have to do is focus on your adventure.

If you want to take part with our team, we offer two rental bikes depending on your category:
