Morocco Desert Challenge 2024 with the Ténéré Spirit Expérience

The Morocco Desert Challenge 2024 will see the competitors and teams take on a 3000km challenge over eight stages, with a new ‘coast to coast’ route starting in Agadir and finishing in Saïdia.

Those choosing to join the Ténéré Spirit Experience at the event will enjoy world-class technical support and hospitality courtesy of project and team manager Marc Bourgeois, who leads the Ténéré Yamaha Rally Team.

Morocco is the perfect destination for Ténéré riders eager to explore captivating desert landscapes. Riders will travel through the legendary Erg Chebbi, with its imposing dunes surrounded by wadis partly lined with palm trees, encounter strange rocky plateaus marked by extreme weather conditions and dive into vast deserts of stone and lost canyons.

GYTR-equipped Yamaha Ténéré World Raid bikes

This is a condensed version of the best riding Morocco has to offer, in eight adventurous days alongside some of the world’s best riders, such as Pol Tarrés and Alessandro Botturi, on GYTR-kitted Yamaha Ténéré World Rally bikes – which are built for just such a challenge.

Riders joining the Morocco Desert Challenge 2024 have two options, depending on their experience and the level of their riding ability. Prospective participants can use Ténéré Spirit Experience’s intuitive evaluation and training process to gauge whether they are ready for the Raid Category or the Racing Category.

Raid and Racing categories at the Morocco Desert Challenge

In the Raid category at the Morocco Desert Challenge 2024 two options are available to Ténéré Spirit Experience riders: a slightly easier one, on tarmac roads and tracks which run parallel to the rally, and a slightly more demanding one.

The second, harder option, runs partly on the main racing line, without the tricky dune crossings. Riders can alternate from one option to the other on a daily basis as navigation is simple with a Tripy GPS. Both Beginner and Intermediate level Raid riders will cover 200 km to 360 km per day, taking in hamada, oueds and oasis environments.

Riders at the Racing Category level face daily distances of 280 km to 500 km over fast tracks, dunes, wadis and gravel tracks. In the evenings after every stage the organizers’ bivouac and the Ténéré Yamaha Rally Team hospitality area are open to Ténéré Spirit Experience riders.
