The official 2023 Ténéré 700 World Raid was the bike used by the professional riders of the Ténéré World Raid Team. It is derived from the production Ténéré 700 World Raid, featuring GYTR parts to withstand the demands of rally-raid. The reinforced swingarm and chassis are factory parts, reserved for the official team.
Botturi and Tarrés, the two official Ténéré riders
In 2023, the team consisted of:
- Alessandro Botturi (Italy): two-time winner of the Africa Eco Race (2019 and 2020), two-time International Six Days champion (2005 and 2007), with experience in the Enduro World Championship and several Dakars.
- Pol Tarrés (Spain): former trial and Enduro World Championship rider, known for his extreme challenges on the Ténéré 700.
Tires and Protection of the Official Ténéré 700 World Raid
The official Ténéré is fitted with Michelin Desert Race tires front and rear. Both wheels use Michelin Bib Mousse instead of inner tubes. The result: no more punctures, even on rocky and rough tracks, and a wheel that remains usable until the end of the stage.
For protection, Acerbis equips the motorcycle with three elements:
- engine guard;
- frame protection;
- handguards.
GYTR Performance Kit: More Power
The 689cc CP2 twin-cylinder engine receives the GYTR Performance Kit, developed by Yamaha’s R&D department:
- Akrapovič exhaust system;
- Performance ECU;
- GYTR air filter kit;
- GYTR clutch cover;
- GYTR footpegs;
- GYTR braking kit.
Exhaust, mapping, and intake work together to unleash the engine on long special stages. The reinforced clutch cover protects an area exposed to impacts, and the GYTR braking system handles heavy decelerations under full load.
GYTR Handling Kit: A Rally-Raid Chassis
KYB and Paioli suspension and steering damper
The front end features a 48 mm KYB fork with GYTR triple clamps. The rear is equipped with a GYTR Paioli shock absorber. A GYTR steering damper stabilizes the bike at high speeds in sand and ruts.
Haan Wheels and cooling
The Haan Wheels are fitted with Excel rims, the off-road benchmark for impact resistance. The GYTR radiator kit keeps the engine at the right temperature in the dunes, where speeds are low and the load is high.

GYTR Rally Kit: Autonomy and Navigation
This is the kit that transforms the Ténéré 700 into a rally-raid machine:
- front fuel tanks: 24 liters total;
- rear aluminum fuel tanks;
- navigation tower (road-book, trip meter);
- handlebar kit: navigation controls, fuel pump switch;
- carbon engine guard;
- rally seat;
- graphics kit.
The fuel distribution between front and rear lowers the center of gravity and provides the necessary autonomy for long African stages.
